Hormel Foods has
issued a SPAMARAMA licensure agreement with Keep Austin Weird, the
non-profit business coalition of Austin-based businesses.
While details are
pending, volunteers can utilize my contact info for current updates.

A special message to all of the 2007 volunteers
from Teri!
Saturday, April 7th, 2007 was cold. It rained
and there was even sleet. It was a miserable day outside.
Freakish April weather. In retrospect, it wasn't reasonable to
expect volunteers to show up in weather like that. But guess
what? The majority of the registered volunteers showed up
anyway, and worked in the freezing cold weather, wet and miserable
until their shift was over. To top that off, the second shift
volunteers showed up as well, although by that time it was apparent
that the day was a wash out.
The Carrabbas's staff showed up to feed all of the
volunteers, and even went out and bought a new tent for the
occasion. Everyone really appreciated the hot meal, and I hope
all of the volunteers will show their appreciation the next time
they find themselves in the restaurant.
The SPAMARAMAŽ Committee members, the sponsors, the
vendors, and the Disability Assistance Board members were all very
impressed by the caliber of the volunteers, and I couldn't be more
grateful to you all, nor more proud. You all are the best, and
I feel incredibly grateful to have each and every one of you.
Wear those t-shirts proudly, you've earned them.
